Something like "Another peaceful day." might be a little more natural than "Today's been a peaceful day again...", and I personally would have gone with "Every Day is Peaceful" for the title (I don't think that が is fulfilling the same function here as the が in, say, 我が家, but I suppose it isn't impossible). The other line looks good. I see you've left the onomatopoeia untranslated -- but nobody can really hold that against you, since English doesn't have a good onomatopoeia for "spacing out".

I agree that the font fits nicely. Do you mind sharing with us what font it is?

The font is Augie (took it from http://www.unblessed.net/guide/type/fonts.html).
Thanks for the tips about the translation... I never seriously learned japanese and my english is still not as good as it could be...
I had really a hard time figuring out those kanjis... What's the better way to find a kanji, without furigana and all, in a dictionary (I only have jwpce)?

I tried doing this one too, but I did a lot of guessing, this time...

The easiest way, in my opinion, is to get an electronic dictionary (or computer program) that supports look-up via handwritten input. No radicals, no stroke counts, no readings. All you have to be able to do is draw the damn thing, and it'll usually find the right kanji on the first attempt. It's incredibly useful. I hear there's software for the Nintendo DS that does stuff like this, too, if you have a DS and don't feel like buying a new device. I personally use a Canon v300, and I've found it to be worth the money...that said, it certainly isn't cheap: the v300 costs over $300.

Learning kanji is a huge bitch. Believe me when I say that I feel your pain. I seriously recommend going electronic, though. I cringe at the thought of using a book to look up kanji by radical or stroke order.

In case you didn't know, that translation was completely made up.

Here is a correct one:

The fake translation is funnier, after all...

>>30
No, the translation is correct. It's the Japanese that's fake. That is to say, the Japanese in >>9 is not the same as the Japanese in that danbooru link. The translations for each are correct.

32 Name: Anonymous : 2009-11-14 20:38 ID:HTDQKnke [Del]

And actually, now that I look at the danbooru discussion, they're right about 無性. Its primary meaning is something like "recklessly" or "excessively." That said, 無 means "not" or "no" and 性 means "sex," so I'd be surprised if there weren't some sort of punnage going on in the fake Japanese version. So although the first line should probably just be "Man, I really wanna grab some girls' boobs" or something, throwing in "in a nonsexual way" might not be entirely wrong because of the pun. If there really is one.

anyway the rest should be right OTL

Looking up Kanji electronically is certainly easier than doing it by stroke count or by radical.

However, I'd suggest that if you want to learn Japanese then you shouldn't use the electronic lookup. Yes, using radicals is a pain, but it forces you to learn much more than you would by simply drawing on pad and letting the computer do the work for you. The dictionary method is a pain in the butt, but it does help you learn. It's pretty amazing how quickly you pick up Kanji doing translations the "old fashioned way".

The artist apparently did two versions the one from >>9 followed by the one from >>30 (The same day minutes apart). So it's not a case of fake anything, just two different versions of the same illustration.

http://www.hellodamage.com/kanjidicks/main.htm

I found this guy's method quite interesting, for evey kanji there's a mnemonic full of profanities that helps remembering on-yomi, kun-yomi and meaning of the kanji in a single sentence.

Really, all those profanities make everything easier to remember.
