Sorry, didn't spot this before now (autosage is a bitch). I presume you're asking about the guy. He's Yang R Gray, but like the girl he's a purely original creation of the artist. The girl's name is Nimer. She basically fell down to earth, lost the wings on her back and wanders around with the guy. There are some stories on the Japanese side of the site that fleshes out the world she lives in. www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~cons/index_eng.html
More of her and/or this Artist please!
JALways is a subsidiary of Japan Airlines that only flies to resorts and as such paints the words Reso'cha (resort charter) on its aircraft - all of them 747s. The fuselage is also decorated with painted tropical flowers, which is why the Reso'cha girls always have flowers in their hair. The different girls represent variants of the Jumbojets, the girl to left is a 747-300.
This is a 747-200b
The other girl in the pic is a JAL 777-300. JAL calls these aircraft Star Jet, and each individual aircraft is named after a famous star. This particular girl is Antares.
Forgot to mention that the above pic is the basis for the cover art of a doujin concept album that I think came out at Comiket 73. No idea if the music is any good.
Some sketches.
It seems that the Jetgirl, flight album came out a couple of months before C73, and what actually came out at C73 was the single Jetgirl, airline#001. You can find samples of each song in the album at the main site - http://jetgirl.mu-sic.jp/ - and the one you'll want is the medley of the songs, which is the last sample. Surprisingly good stuff, they actually hired some voice actresses to sing so it wasn't the elevator music I expected.
But the fun doesn't stop there. The artists are apparently doing some form of promo push and even released a DVD (cover on the left). Nothing fancy really, just an OP-style animation and some other content. OP music is a song from the above album. It's based at an institution called Flight Air Training School, and features mascots of fictional airlines (often thinly disguised real airlines).Right now the airline mascots have reached the level of Strike Witches but with a little bit of luck they could be the next Sky Girls.DVD can be bought from Melonbooks - http://www.melonbooks.com/item/goods/id_goods/IT0000104018
